Episode 8: Guidance

 At the Blue Shell Parlor, Po's father, Lohi, interrupts with some Dai Li agents. While Po is scared his father has found him, it's actually Mayu the royal courtier is after. Having heard Mayu was in Ba Sing Se, Lohi asks him why he has not returned yet with Po. Po, however, tries to stand up to his father and explain he's got more to do. Lohi tells Po to visit him and discuss these events the next day.

The Dai Li, however, take Kensaya, who has caused a disruption, and imprison him.

While incarcerated, Kensaya is visited by General Hei Wan, who's trying to ascertain if Kensaya is with the daofei, knowing there has been rising activity, particularly among the Fanged Mercenaries in the Lower Ring (led by Lei Fang). Kensaya, however, doesn't share much information and remains tight-lipped.

Meanwhile, back at the Moon Peach Inn, the gang tries to keep Chona safe from Lei Fang and looks to set her up under Setua's protection while she works at the Blue Shell or the Inn. Chona pushes back against Taqqiq's pleas, knowing that she's tried to abandon the life she's being asked to slip back into.

The next morning, the group (sans their Firebender) go to Po's family estate in the Upper Ring. After learning Kensaya is not in a local jail, they see if they can ask Lohi for help. Po is chastised for returning early, and it is revealed that he is trying to avoid the Royal squabbles in Ba Sing Se in order to swoop in at a more opportune time should the throne be more available. Mayu, meant to protect him, is reprimanded for bringing him back to the dangers of Ba Sing Se.

Lohi, however, is able to help locate Po's friend(?) Kensaya, and secure a job for Chona. Lohi sets the group to meet with Hei Wan at the Building of Cultural Appreciation. Po pleads with Hei Wan and is successful, and a release is set at a public Gardens. Hei Wan criticizes Mayu's apparent abandoning of his post, but Mayu stands firm that he is investigating the city's criminal elements. Taqqiq also explains that he is protecting the kingdom, and Hei Wan is convinced the group are fighting more for the Earth Kingdom than the daofei.

Returning to the Moon Peach Inn, the group puts together the pieces of their current mission: gain entrance to the rumored Crystal Catacombs beneath the city (ancient ruins of a very old Ba Sing Se), seek out the hermit known as Unyielding Zato, believed to have trained Enji, and look for Enji and either understand and talk him down from his path of destruction....
