As Enji arrives back in the Four Nations, a wave of energy sweeps over the companions. They see and feel a very visceral memory of Kyoshi's ttack on the dao fei in Ba Sing Se. Kensaya strikes at Enji, forceful and upset, and Enji shakes it off, but also seemingly confused. He slowly recognizes the group and questions how Mayu escaped.
The companions relate how Enji was seemingly controlling Yo back in the Banyan Grove, but Enji corrects them -- he had no part specifically in Yo's anger, but he fueled Yo's memory and jealousy of Mayu unintentionally. He also explains he has learned how to read the tattoos -- they are ancient maps from when the stars aligned differently on the sky, and he knows now how to find Hui Yi.
Enji claims it interesting how the Avatar can tap into her past lives and memories, and he just needs one more point to triangulate where he must head next. He then uses a new ability -- he creates a portal to what looks like the White Raven Shrine and steps through it, back into a place of which he has a memory.
The group decides they need knowledge of Hui Yi (now that they have a specific name) and old star charts, so they decide (with Amu's push) to head to the great library of Wan Shi Tong.
Po leads the way with their sandskiff to the great library, where the spirit Wan Shi Tong asks for knowledge in payment of using his resources. Kensaya gives him the knowledge of Bushin's Spiral Flare kick technique, and Taqqiq shares the knowledge of Yoza Village, a cooperative community of waterbenders, earthbenders, and sandbenders. Mayu passes on the knowledge and understanding of his tattoo from the Banyan grove. Po gives up his Dai Li robes, explaining the new cultural defenders that Avatar Kyoshi has created for the Earth Kingdom.
The group searches for some time, finding some old star charts and information on a place called A(r)mbar, a mystical site in the mountains northwest of Ba Sing Se. They also learn that a group of firebenders were recently in the area, and one stole a tome -- a woman with a description matching Allaya of the Punctured Boar gang. Outside, Taqqiq and Kensaya wait for Mayu and Po to continue searching and gathering information. They encounter a group of Tallah's sand-tribe, who confirm the Punctured Boar activity and that they went northwest. Taqqiq mentions the companions' encounter with Enji, and his disappearance and apparent abandonment of Tallah, and pleads that Tallah should rethink a unified community with Rakim and the other sand-tribes.
Reconvening, Amu explains that Enji is likely headed to A(r)mbar, and the group figures they should stop at the White Raven Shrine, where they last knew Enji to be, as well as pick up a ride, perhaps, from the Air Nomads there to reach A(r)mbar. Amu says he will stay at the library and continue his research, and the group heads off to the northwest.
